  • An outsourced CFO (or part-time finance director) is an experienced finance leader who runs your company’s finance function a few days per month, without a full-time employment contract. They take on treasury, reporting, business plan, financing and strategic steering — flexibly on volume.

  • An outsourced CFO works part-time across several companies. You access a senior profile at a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire (€120-180K fully-loaded). Up and running in 2 weeks vs 3 to 6 months of recruitment. Data and AI stack already operational. No long-term commitment.

  • Three key moments. At early stage: secure cash, the lifeblood, and structure simple tracking. In growth: the finance function expands (analytical accounting, financing search, hiring, finance organization). In scale-up: prepare a Series A/B round and structure an internal finance team. If you’re making decisions by gut feel because you don’t have clear visibility, that’s probably the right time.

  • A good outsourced CFO combines several skills: accounting and operational expertise (to work with your accountant and optimize financial statements), sector understanding, mastery of modern tools (Pennylane, Qonto, Stripe…) and the ability to automate what can be automated.   • No. The CFO works with your accountant, not instead of them. They make sure documents are submitted on time and that financial statements are optimized. The CFO focuses on strategic steering (cash, KPIs, business plan, fundraising, investor reporting), where the accountant produces regulatory and tax accounting.

  • Tier 1: one-time 2-week assignment (diagnostic and action plan). Tier 2: 2 to 4 days per month (recurring). Tier 3: 5 to 10 days per month (full finance outsourcing). We adapt to your activity peaks (closings, fundraises, due diligence).

  • Both. Depending on your need and location, I can come on-site once or several times per week, or work remotely with regular steering points. Most assignments are hybrid.

  • Johan has been an independent CFO for 8 years. Over €10M raised in total from business angels, private funds, banks and regional or Bpifrance bodies (loans and grants). Dual profile: operational finance and investor view (former experience in an investment fund and a crowdfunding platform). He knows both sides of the table.
